Hello friends of Cam Home and Garden
This newsletter is all about plants – small ones, large ones, indoor ones, outdoor ones, edible ones, pretty ones, impressive ones, prickly ones…
We have a plant for everyone – and every garden. Or windowsill. Or hanging basket.
So, let’s cut the introductory waffle and get started…
Herbs
We have a huge variety of lovely healthy herbs to perk up any salad, stew or even a loaf of bread…
We have these varieties (often with organic plants as an option too) and many more:
- chives
- basil
- rosemary
- thyme
- parsley
New plants come in regularly – drop in and see our range!
Seeds for sewing outdoors
The time for indoor planting is over – but there are a few seeds you can still sow outside.
Give your soil a weed and a rake over, make sure it’s well watered and ready to go. And then get sowing!
Top varieties for planting this month include:
- salad varieties
- rocket
Not sure how to get started? We’re always open to questions and happy to advise.
Veg seedlings and plants
Fancy some plants that are sprouted, grown on and ready for the outdoors? We’ve sourced our lovely seedlings (some from a local organic farm) and can currently offer you:
- cucumber
- courgettes
- chili
- sweet pepper
- squash
- aubergines
- tomatoes
New varieties of seedlings and plants come in regularly – drop by and see what catches your eye!
Bedding plants
Whether you have specific colours in mind or you need to cover some bare ground quickly we have flowers and plants for all your needs!
Our bedding plants are high quality, grown and nurtured by our trusted suppliers. We’ve been using them for years and know we can rely on them.
We have a large range including six packs of:
- geraniums
- marigolds
- petunia
- viola
- pansy
We have ready-to-go (larger and more established) potted bedding plants such as pelargoniums, cosmos, zinnia and non-stop begonias.
Interested in perennials too?
We also have colourful heucheras, lavender, agapanthus and tall salvias!
Hanging baskets – everything you need!
From baskets to plants, from liners to soils – we’ve got it all here waiting for you.
A one-stop shop for hanging baskets:
- nutritious soil, peat-free options
- water-retaining granules for mixing with your compost – helps store water on hot summer days
- perfect plants from bright little pansies and petunias to trailing ivy and lots more.
Whether it’s a welcoming burst of colour by your front door, or something pretty hanging from a pergola – come and check out what we’ve got.
Hanging baskets can be intimidating (how do you stop the soil from running out the gaps?!) so don’t be afraid to ask. (The answer – one of our soil and moisture retaining basket liners.)
New indoor plants in stock too…
There are plenty of rainy days in May so why not use that time to spruce up your houseplants?
We have new ones in stock, plus pots, different soils for specialist requirements such as cacti, and other accessories.
Top of our list of indoor plants right now are:
- Pachira Aquatica
- Peperomia Happy Bean
- lots of variegated Calathea
- cacti and other succulents
They make lovely gifts, or just use them to perk up a corner of your own home!
All the other bits you need
We also have composts (including ericaceous), bark mulch and soil improvers.
Along with our quality garden tools, we also stock different feeds including organic options.
And you can ask us questions! We love sharing our knowledge and seeing new gardeners get started (and old ones learn new tricks!).
Just give us a try – we’ll do our very best to help you.
Thank you!
As always, we are delighted to help with questions and specialist items – we are happy to order in items if we can. Just come and ask!
Warmest wishes and thanks for supporting our local shop!
